Compressor as the name suggests compress or reduce the volume of a gas which results in increased gas pressure. Compressors are similar to pumps as both are used for increasing the pressure on a fluid or gas and are essential for moving a fluid or gas through a pipe or duct. Compressors are found in all sort of industrial machines and can even be seen in some home appliances such as refrigerators or air conditioners. Compressors use various technologies and there are several different types of compressors in use worldwide which can mainly be divided into two main categories namely positive displacement and dynamic compressors.
