Nickel and Nickel Alloys

Nickel is a chemical element and is a silvery-white lustrous metal with a slight golden tinge. Nickel is classified as a ‘transition metal’ and is hard and ductile. The global production of nickel is used in nickel steel, nonferrous alloys, and super alloys, and electroplating. Because of its likeness to silver, nickel is often confused as silver and also widely used by jewellery makers where it is highly resistant to corrosion. Nickel has many domestic and industrial uses like stainless steel, rechargeable batteries, electric guitar strings, plating on plumbing fixtures and special alloys.
