Weigh Stations

A weigh station is a checkpoint along a road or motorway that inspects vehicular weights (particularly transport trucks and commercial vehicles). In each weigh station, there are truck scales or weigh bridges to calculate the truck’s weight. Some weigh stations have way in motion technology, which allow trucks to be weighed without stopping. Usually, there is a light system which indicates if the truck can continue its journey or if the driver should pull over for additional checks. There are a variety of scales employed in weigh stations, from single axle scales to multi-axle scales. Weigh stations are used by local and custom authorities to monitor imports and exports and confirm that everything is compliant to legislation.
