Slide Valves

Slide valves are rectilinear valves used to control the entry of steam into the cylinder of an engine and the emission of exhaust from the steam engine. Types of slide valves include D slide valve, long D slide valve, knife gate and slide gate. Valves typically found on the FCCU are the spent catalysts valve, regenerated catalyst slide valve, catalyst slide valve and the cooled catalysts slide valve. However, the most well-known slide valves are the regen and spent slide valves. Slide valves are used in process plants and in the pneumatics and hydraulics. They are also used in many industries including chemical, minerals, plastics, pharmaceuticals and food and dairy applications as well as many more gravity-flow applications.
