Screw Pumps

A screw pump is a positive-displacement pump which uses screws to move fluids or solids along the screw axis. The term ‘screw pump’ is used to describe a wide range of pumps which work by moving fluid along the screw’s spindle. Screw pumps are used for transport of viscous fluids with lubricating properties. The most simple screw pump is referred to as Archimedes' screw pump but the most common type of screw pump is the three-spindle screw pump. They are suited for a variety of applications such as fuel-injection, oil burners, hydraulics, boosting, fuel, circulating, lubrication, and feed. In the industries of offshore and marine installations, a three-spindle screw pump is often used to pump high-pressure viscous fluids.
