Waterproof Jackets

Waterproof jackets use a special coating which makes them showerproof or fully waterproof. There are two types of waterproof jackets, showerproof and fully waterproof jackets. Showerproof jackets as the name suggests can withstand a shower of rain. Showerproof jackets are generally coated with a waterproof coating also known as Durable Water Repellency coating or DWR. This coating makes water to bead up on the surface and run off thus making the jacket showerproof. Whereas fully waterproof jackets use special waterproof membrane which doesn’t let water drops in. These jackets also have taped seams which stop water from coming in through the stitching.
