Anodising

Anodising is a process of electrolytic passivation and is used to increase the natural thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of metal parts. Anodizing increases corrosion and wear resistance and provides better adhesion for paint paints and glue. Anodising is considered the most environmentally friendly form of metal finishing. The most common form of anodising is demonstrated in coloured Apple iPod, through coloured anodising. Methods of anodising include electrocolouring, combination colouring and interference colouring. Anodising (often called anodizing) is used in exteriors, roofs, curtain walls, ceilings, floors, escalators, lobbies and staircases in skyscrapers and commercial buildings throughout the world. The most widely used type of anodising is used by the U.S military. Anodising is also employed by the British defense industry.
