Electro-Optical Engineering

Electro-optical engineering is a subdivision of electrical engineering and material physics. It involves mechanisms, methods and systems that operate by the circulation and interaction of light with various materials. Electro-optical engineering may cross over into electrical or aerospace engineering. Electro-optical engineers will carry out plans and research the development of many different factors and materials that emit light and or that are sensitive to light. These highly skilled engineers may also be involved in ongoing image processing research, developing image analysis software and looking at possible future opportunities to improve and develop current materials and systems.
