Appliances should be tested every one to two years and a record should be kept showing which items were tested, if they passed and when the next inspection date is due. Many businesses may use PAT testing as it covers the requirements for safe electrical use while the public areas may involve more specialised equipment being used to test the high voltage electrical items.
