Noise Testing

Noise testing tests the level of noise around you and the surrounding area and helps maintain a level of noise that is acceptable, reducing any potential health problems that may be caused by noise exposure or pollution. Being exposed to excessive noise levels can, and may, lead to hearing loss therefore testing noise levels exposes any potential threat and allows suitable action to be taken. You first must identify the correct noise test you require to ensure suitable and appropriate action is taken if required. Tonal noise tests can test the levels of noise produced by engines, broadband, wind and roads while high frequency noise testing can test the levels of sound we hear and can identify if the levels are higher than should be and therefore causing potential damage to our ears. It is recommended noise testing is carried out anywhere where noise levels can quite often exceed acceptable levels and cause harmful effects on health, for example building sites, factories. Noise and vibration levels can be tested to identify if any action is required to reduce the noise pollution and protect individuals’ health. Offices may carry out a noise risk assessment to ensure adequate levels of noise within the surrounding working area.
