The main drive behind the increasing use of Hydrogen gas generators over bottled gas is the safety advantage it offers. With a generator the flow of gas from a leak is limited to the speed of generation once the initial on-board reserve has emptied. There is the additional advantage of being able to substitute the Helium carrier gas for Hydrogen when using an FID detector, something which is not recommended when using bottled Hydrogen gas. Another thing to remember is that there is a rental charge on gas bottles so they incur a cost even if not being used whereas a generator can be simply switched off until it is needed again.

We can also supply H2/O2 generators compressed air and much more, contact us for more information.

IPro 5000 TN/TS

CE Instruments Ltd announced the launch of a new Total Nitrogen and Total Sulfur (TN/TS) analyser, which features an innovative direct injection design providing the capacity to analyze both heavy and light hydrocarbons without changing introduction modules. As a result of the versatility, precision and accuracy offered by the Thermo Scientific iPRO 5000 series analyzer, scientists in petrochemical and commercial testing laboratories, oil refineries, R&D centres and chemical plants, will benefit from significant time savings and productivity advantages, in addition to total ASTM compliance. The iPRO 5000™ series TN/TS analyser features the proprietary Thermo Scientific jetPRO direct spray injector, which enables automatic analysis from ppb levels up to percent levels for both nitrogen and sulphur on just one instrument and without changing introduction modules. As a result, it is now possible to quantify nitrogen and sulphur in heavy hydrocarbons within just three minutes. Compared to the standard boat method, this is a dramatic reduction in the time spent from analysis to viewing results, which provides an immediate cost-saving and productivity increase. Offering exceptional precision of two percent or better when analysing light hydrocarbons at ultra-low concentrations, the analyser ensures high accuracy, as well as reproducibility and repeatability of analysis. Providing meticulously controlled combustion processes, the analyser also contains a proprietary pre-soot detection technology which ensures complete combustion that is soot-free. The iPRO 5000 series analyser is also the smallest and most compact total nitrogen and total sulphur analyser currently available. Developed for a wide range of applications, the iPRO 5000 series analyser offers an ideal solution for the diverse requirements of petrochemical analyses. The instrument provides the capacity to analyse virtually any refinery sample from raw crude to end product, while ensuring ASTM compliance and enabling optimisation of refinery processes. For commercial testing laboratories requiring ASTM compliant results quickly and cost-effectively over a wide range of applications, the iPRO 5000 series analyser is four times faster than previous methods which enable a significant increase in productivity and cost-efficiency. In addition, the instrument’s exceptional precision makes it the ideal choice for high performance applications such as those conducted by research and development centres.

Elemental Analyser

Elemental Analyser - The FLASH 2000 Series is a range of modern and compact analysers designed for unattended and full determination of CHN, CHNS and Oxygen in any type of sample from solid to liquid. It has been the result of almost four decades of experience and innovations.

The FLASH 2000 Series has streamlined all steps required to achieve precise determination of Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and Sulphur. The FLASH 2000 is not a black box instrument. The GC separation column is an open window on the analytical system; in fact the chromatogram (peak shape, peak separation, peak retention time etc.) demonstrates the real status of the instrument in every condition.

  • Reliable Oxygen determination is achieved through an Oxygen-specific pyrolysis reactor heated at a temperature slightly above 1060°C. This allows a complete pyrolysis of the sample in an oxidant-free environment.
  • To obtain trace Sulphur determinations it is possible to couple a specific Sulphur detector (Flame Photometric Detector - FPD) to the FLASH 2000.
  • The MAS 200R is typically configured with a 31-sample tray, but can accept further 3 drums. In this way, MAS 200R sample capacity reaches 124 samples and it becomes a useful tool for the lab which must analyse many samples every day.
  • Two liquid autosamplers suitable for all FLASH 2000 configurations: the AI 3000 and AS 3000. The AI 3000 has an 8-sample tray while the AS 3000 boasts a 105 position tray. Both liquid autosamplers are robust, precise, easy to install and easy to use.
  • The modular design of the FLASH 2000 Series CHNS analyser means that laboratories can easily change the configuration to any other OEA analyser, according to your needs.
