Full Lightning Protection systems are installed to divert high levels of electrical current from lightning strikes safely to ground. Their purpose is to take the current to earth and ensure the continued functioning of equipment, the protection of the structure and the safety of people on site. Lightning Protection systems are designed for high frequency applications with lightning current peaking over a very short space of time. G & S Steeplejacks sophisticated protection systems meet all the relevant British standards and are installed by our fully trained engineers. G & S Steeplejacks recommends integrating its Earthing system with its Lightning Protection system for the comprehensive protection of your site. Regular testing and maintenance by qualified engineers will identify any problems and ensure the continued efficiency of your system.

Lightning Conductors and Earth installations should be visually inspected and tested regularly at fixed intervals not exceeding 12 months. Each individual installation as well as the fully connected system electronically tested for resistance to ground, and if below the overall 10 ohms maximum specified, a certificate of compliance will be issued
