Storage Servers

Storage servers are computers specifically designed to act as a central storage for various types of files and media which are connected to a network. Storage servers are also known as fileservers and provide a location for saving data which can be accessed by multiple workstations in need. Workstations in offices and schools are often connected to a local access network or LAN which allows them to store and retrieve data from a storage server. Storage servers are not designed to perform any sort of computational task and are intended to complement workstations or desktops which perform the required computational tasks.
