Network Cards

Network Cards are also known as network adapters, LAN adapters, network interface cards, network interface controllers, physical network interface etc. Network cards are used for connecting a computer to a Local Access Network or LAN and as such are used in all places with a LAN network. Earlier network cards were a type of expansion cards which were connected to the motherboard via a cable, but most modern motherboards have integrated cards which are a part of the printed integrated circuit which constitutes a motherboard. Speed of data transfer of a network card can range from anywhere between 10 Mbit/s to 160 Gbit/s.
