Processors
Central processing units also known as CPUs or simply processors are considered as the brain of a computer which perform all the heavy lifting associated with a computer and are central to functioning of any computer. Processors were developed in the 1940s and initial processors were generally made up of vacuum tubes and relays, which were replaced by transistors in 1950s and by microprocessor based processors of our times during 1970s. Modern processors are millions of times faster than their predecessors and it’s often estimated that even a simple processor normally found in a personal computer is far ahead of the super computer processors of a few decades ago.
