Solid State Drives

Solid state drives use integrated circuits or IC based assemblies as memory for storing data. Solid state drives don’t contain any mechanical or moving part like hard disk drives which uses rotating disks. Due to their superior technology, solid state drives offer many times faster rates of data transfer and even the computers which use a hard drive as a primary memory use a small solid state drive for OS as it speeds up the boot up process and saves one from long waits which one had to endure earlier when starting or restarting a computer. Apple has been using solid state drives extensively for its computers and this gave the Apple computers and laptops a decisive edge over their much slower competitors.
