Sound Cards

Sound cards are found in most computers as they are essential for any input or output of sound. Most often these are expansion cards which are connected to the motherboard. Sound cards use printed circuit boards and in the past, were attached to motherboard via a cable or wires. Modern motherboards use integrated circuit chips which perform the same functions as those performed by a sound card and are similarly known as sound cards. Sound cards perform an important role in audio input and output and a computer may not be able to produce any type of sound if a sound card malfunctions.
