Depth Micrometers
A depth gauge micrometer is a precision measuring instrument used to measure depths. A depth micrometer is used to measure the depth of holes, slots, counterbores, recesses, and the distance from a surface to some recessed part. Depth micrometers are available in both digital and analogue form and always come with a range of interchangeable rods that allow for the measurement of different hole shapes and sizes. In a manual depth micrometer, each revolution of the ratchet moves the spindle face 0.5mm towards the bottom of the blind hole. When it reaches the bottom, the measurement can be recorded. Depth Micrometers are used in the fields of mechanical engineering, metalworking, forestry, woodworking, science, and medicine.
