Feeler Gauges

A feeler gauge is used as a tool used to measure gap widths, in engineering this is often referred to as clearance between two parts. Essentially, feeler gauges are small lengths of steel (known as leaves) which each have different flexibilities. On each piece of steel, measurements are marked in imperial and metric. A gap is measured using more than one leaf at a time for extra precision. The most common type of feeler gauge is the taper feeler gauge, a taper feeler gauge is a feeler gauge is more tapered in shape. Feeler gauges can be used by engineers, mechanical engineers, electricians and those in construction and building.
