Flat Dial Index

A flat dial index is used in conjunction with a flat dial. A flat dial index is a simple construction that features two thru holes. Black anodized aluminium is the usual material for a flat dial index. It allows for index readings to be taken. A flat dial index features two thru holes of .1285 and the index is set at a 3/16 radius. Clear plexiglass is sometimes used as an alternative to anodized aluminium. Flat dial indexes can be used to determine the number of times the zero of the dial has crossed the index in a clockwise or in anti-clockwise direction. This is useful for a variety of applications.
