Extension Springs
Extension springs are designed to do two key functions within an application. Firstly, extension springs absorb and store up energy. Secondly, they create a resistance to the pulling force. The initial tension that is created during the manufacture of extension springs is crucial. This determines how tightly the extension spring is coiled. The tension can be manipulated to accommodate the particular load requirements of an application. Extension springs often come with an initial tension that is comparable to the minimum force required to separate the coils. Various types of hook and loop styles are available for the end coils of extension springs. These include English and German loop (both available in single and double), side loop and extended hook loop. Extension springs are used in a vast range of applications, with specific end coil hooks and loops particularly useful in different settings, including more technical configurations such as a swivel hook end coil.
