Engineering and Technical Design
An engineering and technical design, often called a design engineering, is the processes after the industrial (concept) design leading up to production. The engineering and technical designer work to develop conceptual and detailed designs in conjunction with marketing and industrial design, often taking ownership for the total design effort. In many engineering areas, a distinction is made between the design engineer and the planning engineer in design; Analysis is important for planning engineers, while synthesis is more paramount for design engineers. Engineering and technical designers cover multiple engineering disciplines including electrical, mechanical, chemical, aeronautical, civil, and structural /building/architectural.
