Model Making
Model making is a process whereby a three-dimensional representation of a design or concept is created. In fact, most products in use today first take the form of a model before being produced. The model can have different levels of accuracy, from rough mock-ups to exact duplicates of future designs (also known as prototypes). The two types of model making are additive and subtractive. In additive, clay is used to sculpt and create. However, in subtractive a block material (like wood or block) is reduced (often by a chisel) to achieve the desired shape. Model making is a process in much of modern day design and is used by the transport and consumer goods industry.
