Fused Deposition Modelling
Fused deposition modelling (also commonly known as FDM) is a form of additive manufacturing, whereby materials are laid down in layers to create a solid structure. Fused deposition manufacturing is a technique used in 3D printing and is ideal for short runs and rapid manufacturing, particularly in prototyping. Types of fused deposition modelling systems include desktop like Mojo, uPrint SE and uPrint SE Plus and also production series like Fortus 380/450mc Fortus 900mc. FDM is commonly used in applications of modelling, production, and prototyping by a wide variety of industries including automotive, space and aircraft, as well as medical and dental.
