Shot Blasting

Blasting is the process of propelling a stream of abrasive material against a surface under extremely high pressure. The results include the smoothing of a rough surface, or, indeed, the opposite, the roughening of a smooth surface. Blasting can also be used to shape a surface. Shot blasting is the most abrasive method of blasting, shot being a collective term for small balls or pellets, often made of lead. Shot blasting is used to clean or strengthen polish metal. The two most common methods of shot blasting are wheelblasting and airblasting. Shot blasting is used in almost every industry that uses metal, including aerospace, automotive, construction, foundry, shipbuilding rail, and many others.
