Cross and Morse

Here at Cross and Morse, we are established manufacturers and distributors of a wide range of mechanical transmission products. Our extensive manufacturing capability gives us the ability to turn, gear cut, grind, keyway, drill and tap, broach, mill, hone, shot blast, induction harden teeth and chemical black. Expert engineering and technical support is available our drawing office use the latest Autodesk®  Inventor™ software . At Cross and Morse, we utilise modern CNC equipment to maintain our high quality of service. We hold a large stock of Power Transmission components which gives us a unique position of being both a stockist and a manufacturer.

  1. Shaft Clamping Elements

    Shaft Clamping Elements
At Cross and Morse have a whole range of different shaft clamping elements which provide a connection on a range of different types of transmission equipment. They do so by providing frictional forces and enable the transmission of torque and axial thrust loads. They are able to provide high precision transmission of torque across your system with no backlash. They also do so without the need to meet tight and rigid manufacturing tolerances with other mating components. To learn more about our shaft clamping systems, talk to Cross and Morse today. You can speak to our team on 0121 360 0155, visit us online or send your sales enquiry
  2. Shaft Clamping Elements Stainless Steel

    Shaft Clamping Elements Stainless Steel

Cross and Morse have available three different types of stainless steel locking bushes; RCK40, RCK61 and RCK80. Torque and diameter defining which type is required. Call Cross and Morse on 0121 360 0155 or visit our website for more details.

  3. Sheargard Overload Clutches & Couplings

    Sheargard Overload Clutches & Couplings
The Cross Sheargard Clutch uses a unique Wedge Pin to provide overload protection. For synchronous and indexing drives the Sheargard offers optimum low cost protection with ease of maintenance, reliability of torque setting, and long term operational reliability. The wedge pin is available in Steel and Brass. Using a Brass wedgepin is an ideal low cost option when used in volatile situations such as oil and gas, mining and grain processing as there is no spark upon overload. This unit has an option of a monitor plate which enables disconnection of the power supply in the event of an overload when used in conjunction with a limit or proximty switch.
  4. Shrink wrap tunnel chains

    Shrink wrap tunnel chains
Along with other systems and parts such as crossfeed chains, flow wrap in fee chains, and flight chains, our shrink wrap tunnel chains are part of our series of special construction and attachment chains which can be used in a range of applications such as conveying items, transportation or other process in biscuit (and other) manufacturing processes. To place an order for shrink wrap tunnel chains or to learn more about our range of power transmission products and services, call Cross Morse today on 0121 360 0155. Alternatively, you can visit us online where you can browse our full range of different products and services.
  5. Single Revolution Clutches

    Single Revolution Clutches
These clutches have rollers contained in a cage which is connected to the operating cam. The cam is sprung loaded to push the rollers up the ramp to provide drive, but if the cam is stopped by a trip pawl it fires the rollers out of engagement, thereby disengaging the drive. Clutches can provide a single revolution, multiple revolutions or a fraction of a revolution from a constantly rotating input. Extremely accurate positional control is provided with no accumulative error. Two types of clutch are offered - the BAT series for maximum torque capacity, and CTK series for higher speed applications and replacement on existing machinery.
  6. Special Belts

    Special Belts
Special belts from Cross+Morse can be manufactured in a standard or coated condition to customers' specific requirements. Belts with punched holes and punched rectangular slots according to customer design for most packaging machines and Flexo Folder Gluer machines are also available, all belts made in thermoplastic polyurethane can be fitted with cleats welded on the backside. The cleats are welded with a high frequency vibration system, in order to obtain a perfect result without any glue. Classical moulded belt for vacuum applications which create little noise available with linatex or yellow PV coating.
  7. Special Construction and Attachment Chains

    Special Construction and Attachment Chains
For conveying and transportation a large range of attachments includes standard stock K and M plates, extended pins, and hollow pin chain, plus many custom designed attachments. Stainless steel and special plated chains suitable for high temperature and corrosive applications can also be supplied.
  8. Sprag Clutches

    Sprag Clutches
Sprag clutches are part of our roller and ball bearing systems. They combine the sprag clutch unit with roller bearings in a single unit. This makes them a similar size to our other bearing and clutch systems. They are designed to provide users with a high capacity for torque, whilst also having good bearing strength as well. The units have an operational temperature between 40c and 130c and are greased when supplied. You can find out more about our sprag clutches, as well as our other power transmission systems and parts by contacting Cross and Morse today. Call us on 0121 360 0155. You can also send us an email to sales@crossmorse.com or visit us online to see our full product range.
  9. Sprockets

    Sprockets
At Cross and Morse we have an extensive range of different sprockets and platewheels specially designed to meet and exceed your systems requirements. We can supply sprockets to meet American or British standards and which are fully compliant with all safety standards in those countries. They are manufactured from high quality materials, such as carbon steels and can be supplied with a chemical black, or a plain finish. We can also produce sprockets in high grades of cast iron. You can find out more about our comprehensive range of different power transmission products (such as sprockets and supporting accessories) and how best to use them by contacting Cross and Morse today. 10. Spur Gears

    Spur Gears
Spur gears are the most common form of ger which we can supply. They are used across many diverse industrial and engineering applications for a range of different power transmission and machinery operations. They provide a good level of functionality, flexibility and are easy to swap between different manufacturers. They are a type of cylindrical gear which is used to transmit power between to parallel shafts without generating any power in the axial direction. You can find out more about the numerous ways in which your engineers can use out spur gears in your machinery by contacting Cross and Morse today. You can call our friendly team on 0121 360 0155, send us an email to sales@crossmorse.com, or you can also visit us online.
