Cross and Morse

Here at Cross and Morse, we are established manufacturers and distributors of a wide range of mechanical transmission products. Our extensive manufacturing capability gives us the ability to turn, gear cut, grind, keyway, drill and tap, broach, mill, hone, shot blast, induction harden teeth and chemical black. Expert engineering and technical support is available our drawing office use the latest Autodesk®  Inventor™ software . At Cross and Morse, we utilise modern CNC equipment to maintain our high quality of service. We hold a large stock of Power Transmission components which gives us a unique position of being both a stockist and a manufacturer.

  1. CS Standard Series Clutches

    CS Standard Series Clutches
The standard series of clutches are available in 8 sizes offering three modes of operation, simple overload, synchronous overload, and safelift, and in 7 sizes of the total dis-engagement design. All are available with three methods of supporting drive sprockets, pulleys, or gears, to provide flexibility in application design.
  2. Delrin Couplings - Type LNC

    Delrin Couplings - Type LNC

Delrin Couplings from Cross+Morse are available in two series,LNC400 (1/2") pitch and LNC600 (3/4") pitch. Corrosion resistant, pollution free, no lubrication required and quiet. Cross+Morse Delrin chain couplings can be used for applications up to 5000 rpm and in temperatures from -25F(-30C) to 150F(66C).

  3. Double Sided Metric Belts

    Double Sided Metric Belts
Double sided metric belts as well as open ended belts and others are supplied alongside our classic timing belt systems. They are used in lower torque instruments and drives and come in a wide range of different configurations. We offer different size drives with options for selecting different pitch sizes and pilot or taper bored pulleys. 4. Drives

    Drives

Depending on your machinery, equipment and production needs you will have different needs for drives and chain drives. At Cross and Morse we can supply several different drives and drive systems, these include:

    • Roller chain drives: these are a durable option and can be used for power from minimal to 2500kw and can be run at up to 25 meters per second.
    • Timing belt drives: used in millions of different drive applications, these were first developed over 40 years ago and are commonly used for in low torque applications.
    • Inverted tooth drives: these systems give engineers a wide number of options for combining high shaft speeds and higher torques.

Elastomeric Couplings - Type GE - with spider inserts
Medium to high speed, up to 14,000 rpm. Good misalignment capabilities combined ability to absorb shock. Suitable for most industrial environments.
  6. Elastomeric Couplings - Type KE - with spider inserts

Elastomeric Couplings - Type KE - with spider inserts
Low to medium speed, 7,700 rpm maximum speed. Able to absorb shock loads and accommodate moderate misalignment.
  7. Feed Chains

    Feed Chains
We can supply different configurations of special attachment and construction chains, such as cross feed chains and flow wrap feed chains. These are useful in different industries and for different applications. They can be commonly used on confectionery and biscuit manufacturing industries. Alongside these feed chain systems, we can also supply parts and components as well as accessories to ensure that your feed chains are working in the best possible conditions and provide smooth operation. To place an order for feed chains or learn more about our products and services, call Cross Morse today on 0121 360 0155. Alternatively, you can visit us online.
  8. Flexible Couplings

    Flexible Couplings
We offer a range of different flexible couplings which allows us to cater to different requirements and needs that different drive installations will have. Our coupling include:
    • Roller chain couplings: these offer moderate and steady speeds and loads. They can be used for higher starting loads and allow for easy connection/ disconnection.
    • Delrin couplings which offer medium speeds and have excellent corrosion proofing, allowing for use in both food and textiles.
    • Jaw couplings which are a low cost, medium speed alternative.
We also have elastomeric couplings. Talk to our friendly team today to be advised which type of coupling is the best for your needs. Call us on 0121 360 0155.
  9. Flight chains

    Flight chains
Flight chains are a type of drive chain which is commonly used by biscuit and confectionery manufacturers. Flight chains are a simple and durable product. They are easy to install and easy to maintain. They are a low cost way to handle a variety of different equipment being used for different applications in processing factories. They are typically used in conveying food or other biomass, such as minerals or waste. You can find out more about how to best utilise flight chains by talking to Cross and Morse today.
