Free Overrun Clutches
These are basically similar to conventional sprag clutches, but the sprags have their centre of gravity offset to the pivot point such that in the overrun mode the sprag elements are thrown out of contact with the stationary race by centrifugal force These clutches are for applications involving long periods of high speed freewheeling, when no wear occurs, such as barring motors, starter drives, pump and motor backstops. Three basic types are offered:Request a Quote Supplied by Cross and Morse -
Freewheel Clutches
At Cross and Morse we are a leading manufacturer and supplier of freewheel clutches. We offer customers three different configurations of freewheel clutch, the ball and roller bearing sprag clutch, the single revolution clutch and the backstop clutch. These are all used in different ways and offer our customers a range of different freewheel clutch options, depending on the torque transmission needs. We supply our freewheel clutches are commonly supplied ready greased and ready to use. Gear Couplings - Types GFA and GFAS
Coupling types GFA and GFAS from Cross+Morse are designed for heavy industrial applications. The GFA coupling consists of two hardened steel hubs with external crowned and barrelled teeth connected by a hardened steel sleeve with matching gear teeth. The GFAS coupling has only one hub with external teeth which connects to a sleeve with integral hub. This povides a stiffer connection suited to cardan shaft applications. High torque capacity coupling for medium speed applications, up to 6,000 rpm. Torsionally stiff. Require good alignment for long service life. Use Gear couplings:- For high torque reversing drives on Cranes, Rolling Mills, high shock load applications, Crushers, Rubber Mills, large Motor Gearbox connection and Drives requiring torsional stiffness.Request a Quote Supplied by Cross and Morse -

Gears and Racks
Cross+Morse offer a complete range of standard spur gears all machined from medium carbon steels suitable for induction hardening, available from stock or on a short delivery with finish bore and key.
Straight Racks available in standard lengths of 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 metres is a range of 20° PA straight cut racks with pitch range 1 Mod. to 8 Mod. These are designed to combine with the standard spur gears to provide low cost conversion of rotary to linear motion.
Racks can be supplied modified to enable easy mounting by addition of plain or tapped holes.
