An Edge Computing Board That Can Perform Over 1 Trillion Floating Point Operations Per Second!
15 October 2019Westerham, Kent. June 19, 2019 New from RDS is the AAEON AI Core X an AI Edge Computing Board with Intel®Movidius™ Myriad™ X VPU, MYDX x 1. It can reach 105 FPS and can perform over 1 trillion floating point operations per second as a dedicated neural network accelerator. The Myriad X is capable of processing video and performing facial recognition in real-time and as an ultra-low power VPU needs very little energy.
The AI Core X is built on the mPCIe factor which means it is compact and designed to work in a wide range of applications. Other features of this board consist of Intel® Vision Accelerator Design SW SDK, a supported framework consisting of TensorFlow, Caffe and MXNET, and Ubunto 16.04 and Windows®10.
Also available is the Intel®Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit. Now, applications and solutions can be developed that emulate human vision. Based on convolutional neural networks it enables CNN-based deep learning inference at the edge. The toolkit extends workloads across Intel® hardware, including accelerators and maximises performance. It speeds up time to market via a library of functions and pre-optimised kernels as well as including optimised calls for OpenCV and OpenVX.
