Pearson Coating Surveys are a method of assessing corrosion protection on pipelines and structures employed in the oil, gas, and water industries, both offshore, on land and underground. The Pearson Coating Survey checks for defects in protective coatings using an AC signal injected onto the pipeline before making a comparison of the potential gradient between two earth contacts.
When a defect is detected the voltage will be found to increase. At R and R Corrosion we can carry out the Pearson Survey for customers and design and plan measures to provide further cathodic or coating protection.
