The brass winding pole looks smart and elegant and can be used to open screw jack openers on vents, conservatory pitched windows, or low level vertical windows.
When using the winding pole you need to stand as parallel as possible to the angle of the screw jack. And be sure to work out the distance between yourself as you stand parallel to the opener and the screw jack and order a winding pole of that distance or slightly less. It's better to have to reach for your screw jack than to have a winding pole that's too long.
