Soup Kettles and Warmers

A soup kettle or warmer is a piece of equipment found in almost every commercial kitchen. They are urns that hold soup and keep it warm and have the added functionality of allowing soup to be served directly from the kettle or warmer. They are more efficient in cost than keeping a pot of soup on the hob all day but also offer the advantage of a free burner in a business kitchen. Even though the name suggests soup only, soup kettles and warmers can also hold curries, stews and chillies. Soup kettles and warmers are also known as soup pots, and traditionally come in six, ten and twelve litre units. Soup kettles and warmers are used in restaurants, canteens, snack bars, cafes and many other types of commercial kitchen.
