Cam Assemblies

Cam assemblies are the mechanical systems that allow cam followers to work. The cam followers are sliders that, when in contact with the cam, transmit movement, the extent of which is determined by the particular cam profile. Cam assemblies are available in a variety of different configurations. The two most common types of cam assemblies are split hub and pin hub. Both types of cam assemblies are typically adjustable. The key specification measurements of cam assemblies are the inner diameter, outer diameter and the centre. The most common material type used with cam assemblies is stainless steel. For pin hub cam assemblies, the size of the set screw and sub drill will vary. With two main types of cam assembly available – pin hub and split hub, and a variety of sizes and specifications available for both, cam assemblies can be used in a wide range of applications in various machinery types.
