Belleville Washers

Belleville washers are known by several other names: Belleville springs, disc springs and conical spring washers to name just a few. Essentially, a Belleville washer is a spring that is shaped in the same way as a washer. The spring capability comes from its conical design. Another clear benefit of Belleville washers is that they can be loaded statically or dynamically along the axis, if required. There are a variety of different types of Belleville washer and several different uses. They can be utilised as a spring, or as a way of applying flexible quality to a bearing or a bolted joint.
