Curved or Wave Washers

Curved washers have similarities to Belleville washers, the difference being that a curved washer only has a curve in a single direction. Because of this, curved washers are best used in applications that only require light pressure to be exerted as there are only four points of contact. Another variation is known as a wave washer. These are washers that feature a wave directed axially. In a similar way to Belleville washers, wave washers are able to offer spring pressure when compression occurs. Although, wave washers are similar in size to Belleville washers, they are not able to produce the same level of force. Wave washers normally come in A2 stainless steel. Curved washers and wave washers share similar characteristics to Belleville washers and are best suited to applications where light force is required. As they are available in nominal diameter sizes ranging from 2mm to 16mm, they are versatile and useful in a range of industries.
