Calculators and Adding Machines

Calculators are the most common form of adding machines which are used in most modern offices and workplaces. Adding machines were mechanical devices used in offices for bookkeeping calculations. These were just basically mechanical calculators which fell out of favour once the calculator was unveiled in 1970s. Old adding machines are rarely used today. Calculators of different types are most extensively used for all accounting calculations today. Calculators themselves can be divided into three main categories, namely desktop calculators, pocket calculators and printing desk calculators. There is also a category of scientific calculators but they are rarely used in offices and are mostly seen in universities, laboratories etc. All three calculator categories are similar except some basic differences. Pocket calculator as the name suggests is smaller in size, desktop calculator is the most widely used form of calculator. Print Desk calculator comes with a small printer and a roll of paper is attached to it for printing out any calculation.
