Eyepieces

An eyepiece is a lens that is attached to optical devices, like microscopes and telescopes, for the purpose of viewing. Eyepieces are used to view and magnify the image, with the amount of magnification depending on the focal length of the eyepiece. Types of eyepieces include negative lens (also known as Galilean), Convex Lens, Huygens, Ramsden, Kellner (also known as Achromatic), Plossl (also known as symmetrical), Orthoscopic (also known as Abbe), Monocentric, Erfle, Koning, RKE and Nagler. Eyepieces are used in a wide variety of equipment including microscopes and telescopes, in a wide variety of industries including science and research, engineering, botany, entomology and astronomy.
