3D Printing

3D Printing is a technology that is used to create models, patterns, prototypes and production parts. It works by producing solid structures layer by layer, using a process known as photopolymerization (which is where light causes molecules to link together to form polymers). 3D Printing is also known as Stereolithography, SLA, SL, resin printing, optical fabricating and stereolithography apparatus. The two main uses for 3D Printing include medical modelling, with the first being to primarily to help in diagnosis, pre-op planning and also implant design and manufacture. The second use is in prototyping for a variety of industries including automotive.
