Marking and Scribing

Marking and scribing is a process used for the lifetime identification of parts and components in demanding environments such as aerospace, automotive and defence sectors. The identification can be made on a part or component in several ways including laser marking, dot peen marking or scribing, each offering a different way of applying digits, text, logos, 2d matrix codes or other means of identification to a surface area. These methods of identification are both economical and environmentally friendly, whilst the permanent nature of these processes means that they are often used in instances where labels, stickers or other perishable means of identification are not suitable.
