Thermal Engineering
Thermal engineering is associated with the heating and or cooling of processes, equipment or sealed environments. Thermal engineering may also incorporate other principles such as thermodynamics, heat transfer and mass transfer, and may be performed by mechanical and chemical engineers. Thermal engineering may deal with cooling of computer chips, boiler design, solar heating systems, thermal power plants and commercial cooling systems. The thermal engineers will carry out detailed analysis of the thermal design and ensure the product is functional. Thermal engineers will be involved in certain projects and these projects can range from spacecraft analysis to detailed component analysis. You may find thermal engineering in IT environments, aerospace component manufacturers and manufacturing industries. Thermal engineers work in industries that require processes or equipment to be at a desired temperature and they will get involved in the creation of these processes or of this equipment to ensure the design meets the specified criteria.
