Display solutions and embedded systems provider, Review Display Systems (RDS) has announced the introduction of a new 10.4-inch TFT P-series display module from industrial display manufacturer Tianma. The P1040XGF1MA00 features XGA resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), a classic 4:3 aspect ratio and Super Fine TFT (SFT) technology which enables wide viewing angles and highly consistent colour reproduction.

The 10.4-inch display features a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and Tianma’s Super Fine TFT (SFT) technology which enables a wide viewing angle of 85 degrees in all viewing directions (left, right and up, down). A white LED backlight, complete with integrated driver, provides a specified brightness rating of 1300cd/m² and a 100K hour half-brightness lifetime. These key features ensure that the 10.4-inch P-series TFT module produces display images that are bright, colourful, and highly consistent.

The 20-pin, single-channel LVDS data interface supports a configurable colour depth of 6-bit or 8-bit which enables a colour palette of either 262K or 16.7M colours. The 10.4-inch display module features mechanical outline dimensions of 230.0mm (w) x 180.2mm (h) x 9.5mm (d) and an active display area of 210.4mm (w) x 157.9.24mm (h). The display module supports an extended operating temperature range of -30°C to +80°C. An anti-glare surface polariser is also employed.

The BOXER-6643-TGU is powered by 11^th Generation Intel Core U processors which enable the system to deliver enhanced performance, wide temperature range operation, 5G support and other innovative technologies to support embedded controller and industrial IoT applications in challenging industrial environments.

With up to 64GB of memory and integrated Intel Iris Xe embedded graphics GPU, the BOXER-6643-TGU enables users to fully utilise its processing capabilities to support industrial AI and Edge Computing applications. Dual HDMI ports, allow the system to support 4K high-definition video on two independent displays, ideal for digital signage applications.

Data intensive applications are ably supported with the BOXER-6643-TGU I/O specification. Featuring two LAN ports, 2.5Gbps and 1.0 Gbps, the system supports high-speed communication for real-time processing and control. The system also features expansion slots for wireless networks, including Wi-Fi, 4G and 5G mobile network communication. Other I/O features include four USB3.2 Gen 2 slots, dual COM ports and 8-channel DIO.

The BOXER-6643-TGU offers a range of storage options including mSATA and NVMe, as well as a SATA III port connected directly to the board. A 2.5" SATA drive is easy to install and maintain, with a slide out tray located on the side of the system. Additionally, two easy-access panels on the bottom of the system allow users to add or upgrade expansion cards and memory modules.

Designed to be used anywhere, the BOXER-6643-TGU features a compact mechanical form factor, rugged construction, and an operating temperature range of -20°C to 60°C. implementing a cable-free design, the system is also suitable for high-vibration environments while the fan-less design ensures dust and contaminant free operation.

(RDS) has today announced the availability of a range of complementary industrial specification SBC (single board computers) and high resolution TFT (thin film transistor) display modules which are ideally suited for use in the design and development of integrated embedded systems.

Review Display Systems are now supplying and supporting European-manufactured, industrial specification SBCs from Kontron, a global leader in embedded computing technology, and high performance, high resolution TFT display modules from Taiwanese-based display manufacturer P.G Display Electronics.

With an ambition to deliver fully integrated system solutions, RDS are providing a complete embedded design and configuration capability that includes the integration of computing hardware, displays,  touchscreens, interconnect, mechanical fixtures and fittings, and custom operating systems and software.  

Designed by Fujitsu, the industrial specification Kontron D3544-S SBC series supports fan-less operation with Intel Celeron J4005, J4105 and Pentium J5005 processors. The D3544-S provides exceptional graphic performance with the integrated Intel UHD graphics processor supporting a maximum of 3 independent eDP (embedded DisplayPort) interface connections, and up to 4K (4096 x 2160 pixel) display resolution.

Support for a wide range of applications and industrial usage is provided with an extensive range of on-board peripheral options. The D3544-S can be uniquely configured with memory options of up to 16GBytes of DDR4 2400 SDRAM supported in a single SO DIMM socket. The compact mini-STX form factor of the D3544 has mechanical outline dimensions of just 5.5" x 5.8" (140mm x 148mm). An operating temperature range of 0°C to 60°C is supported.

Also available from Review Display Systems, is a range of high performance, Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) TFT displays from P.G Display Electronics. The 11.6-inch XF116FHD01A-IEHL, 13.3-inch XF133FHD01A-IEHL and 15.5-inch XF156FHD01A-IEHL display modules all exhibit compact mechanical outline dimensions, white LED backlight, a 16:9 aspect ratio, high contrast and high colour saturation, and wide viewing angles. All three TFT displays feature a fully integrated 30-pin eDP interface which enables simple and straightforward connection to the Kontron D3544 SBC.

To aid and assist the design, development and delivery of 'proof-of-concept' embedded systems, the in-house engineering team at RDS have successfully integrated three independent Full HD TFT displays, each displaying different image content, to a single Kontron D3544 SBC without the need for any additional hardware.

The Kontron D3544 SBC will function with a Microsoft Windows 10 or Linux-64 operating system. RDS can create and implement bespoke options for both firmware and OS support, such as custom embedded Windows system images, and exclusive configurations to provide corporate branding or logos on BIOS start-up splash screens.

TFT display modules can also be enhanced to meet application specific needs and design requirements with the addition of optically bonded projected capacitive touchscreens and protective, silk-screen printed cover glass.

Westerham, Kent. 22^nd May 2019 - New from RDS is the TechNexion AXON product family which consists of small form factor (58 x 37mm) modules designed for specialised embedded applications requiring extra I/O flexibility. Powered by the NXP i.MX6 cortex-A9 processor they have the AXON Fabric Logic built in. This is a specialised IC that allows additional functions including nearly infinite pinmuxing for true pin-to-pin compatibility between SoC versions. It has a system memory of up to 2GB DDR3, eMMC storage of 8GB, Gigabit LAN and TTL/Dual LVDS/HDMI/MIPI interfaces. Wi-Fi Bluetooth: Qualcomm QCA9377 is optional.

Westerham, Kent. June 19, 2019 New from RDS is the AAEON AI Core X an AI Edge Computing Board with Intel®Movidius™ Myriad™ X VPU, MYDX x 1. It can reach 105 FPS and can perform over 1 trillion floating point operations per second as a dedicated neural network accelerator. The Myriad X is capable of processing video and performing facial recognition in real-time and as an ultra-low power VPU needs very little energy.

The AI Core X is built on the mPCIe factor which means it is compact and designed to work in a wide range of applications. Westerham, Kent. 24^th September 2019 - New from RDS are two 4.3” TFT IPS Displays from Solomon Goldentek.

Wide viewing angles, excellent price performance and high brightness are just some of the features of these displays, which make them ideal for industrial use.

The GK1YMNJC1E0 has a resolution of 480 x 272 whilst the GK1W43MN1J1E0 has a resolution of 800 x 480. These displays have a driver circuit and a backlight unit together with an operating temperature of -20 to 70^oC. They are anti-glare and display up to 16.7M colours.

The new Gemini Lake Mini-STX format board feature DDR4 dual or Quad core processors and UDK graphics

Fujitsu has released the new “Gemini Lake.” next generation family of Celeron ATOM processors, “Gemini Lake” has been incorporated with Fujitsu’s compact/fanless mini-STX computer motherboard D3544-S of 5.5"x5.8". This industrial board series features a new embedded 2.7GHz DualCore or 2.5GHz QuadCore processor & UHD/4K-res graphics already built-in. Supporting DDR4 memory, this board has total 6x Front & Rear USBs (5x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.1) and 2x internal COM Ports, works with Linux or Windows 10. Westerham, Kent, UK. 30^th June 2017. Review Display Systems are pleased to announce the arrival of the new Raystar REX012864Q type 2.7-inch COG OLED display. Made up of 128x64 pixels, this graphic display has a built-in SSD1309ZC controller IC and communications are via 6800/8080 8-bit parallel, I²C and 4-wire serial interface. The module dimensions are 73.0 x 41.86 mm, an AA of 61.41 x 30.69 and it has an operating range of -40 to + 80°C. It also has the same OLED panel as the existing REX012864K with a 30-pin FPC. It’s FPC pin assignment has been defined as the same as RET012864L (30 pins).

This OLED module is lightweight, low power and very thin, which means it is suitable for intelligent technology devices, wall/meter devices, home applications, POS systems, Cloud/IoT systems, medical instrumentation, etc. Standard emitting colours are yellow, white and sky blue.
