Load Cells and Indicators

A load cell is a transducer, used to create an electrical signal whose magnitude is directly proportional to the force being measured. Simply put, a load cell converts force into a measurable electrical output. They are commonly used in laboratory balances, industrial scales, platform scales and testing machines. The most common types of load cells include hydraulic load cells, Piezoelectric load cell, pneumatic load cells and strain gauge load cells. However, in today's processing plants, electronic load cells are preferred in most applications. Load cells are commonly used by the following industries; science, engineering, education, freight, construction and pharmaceutical. An example of the most common load cell exists in your home bathroom or kitchen scales.
