Roller Chains

A roller chain, sometimes referred to as a bush roller chain, is a chain drive. It is a simple and reliable mechanism that has become the staple of various types of machinery, from domestic applications to agricultural and industrial. From conveyor belts to bicycle chains, the principle remains the same with mechanical power being transmitted in a highly efficient way. Roller chains feature several short rollers held in place by side links. A toothed wheel, known as a sprocket, drives the roller chain. Roller chains come in a variety of types. Lube free roller chains are designed for applications where maintenance is difficult and therefore require a clean requirement. Transmission roller chains made from stainless steel can be found that are suited to highly acidic, alkaline or corrosive environments. Some roller chains can be used in extreme temperatures. Due to their reliability, efficiency and simplicity can be used in a wide variety of domestic and industrial applications, from the chains found on cycles to those suited to the mining, forestry and construction industries.
