TIG Welding
TIG welding stands for tungsten inert gas welding is an arc welding process. In TIG, an electric arc forms between a consumable wire electrode and a piece of workpiece metal. This wire electrode heats the workpiece metal, which causes them to melt and join. GTAW, also known as Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), is most commonly used to weld thin sections of stainless steel and metals like aluminium, magnesium, and copper alloys. The aerospace industry is the biggest user of TIG welding equipment, but many industries use TIG when handling small or thin workpieces, such as like the small-diameter, thin-wall tubing used in the bicycle industry.
