Data Physics UK Ltd

The Data Physics 900 Series Dynamic Signal Analyser combines signal analysis capabilities with a new distributed real-time signal processing engine to provide unrivalled dynamic testing capabilities. The 900 Series hardware is designed for demanding field applications, and with modular gigabit Ethernet architecture, the 900 Series can be expanded to over 1,000 channels for laboratory use.

  1. SignalStar Vibration Controllers

    SignalStar Vibration Controllers
Our SignalStar Vibration Controllers utilise sophisticated control algorithms and advanced Abacus distributed DSP hardware to provide an ideal system for use in product testing and quality checks. Our controllers can be used with both hydraulic and electrodynamic shakers during vibration testing and provide stable control and fast loop speeds, with up to 1000 input channels and a control frequency range of up to 20kHz.

Here at Data Physics we can supply a range of Vibration Controllers to meet your particular measurement requirements. We can provide the SignalStar Scalar with up to 8 inputs, the SignalStar Vector with 24 inputs, and the SignalStar Matrix that has up to 1024 input channels for large channel count applications.

For more information on our SignalStar Vibration Controllers, please feel free to contact us.
  2. Sonar Training

    Sonar Training
Sonar training is usually carried out with operators of passive sonar systems, that is, systems that listen for sounds made by vessels and objects for the purposes of location and measurement of objects underwater and on the surface. The training will assist operators to identify the acoustic signatures of different vessels such as shipping and submarines, and enable them to track and prosecute a target vessel.

At Data Physics we can supply acoustic targets for use in sonar training schemes. The targets can be towed or static for training exercises. We can also provide acoustic enhancements for ships and submarines to amplify their ordinary signatures.

For more information regarding our Sonar Training schemes, please feel free to contact us.
  3. Sound Intensity

    Sound Intensity
Sound Intensity is measured using a pair of microphones placed a fixed distance apart. It is an excellent method for identifying the source of noise during vibration or stress testing of parts and components to ensure required quality standards are reached. The sound intensity measurements can be processed to provide a detailed sound map of the tested area or product.

At Data Physics we offer the SignalCalc Dynamic Signal Analyser for intensity measurements. Sound intensity measuring can be carried out within non-acoustically isolated areas such as factory shop floors and on production lines, making it an excellent method for quality checks in the automotive industry,

  4. Sound Power

    Sound Power
Sound Power is the measurement of sound energy by units of time relative to predetermined reference points. There are various methods of measuring sound power - the techniques are often employed in the engineering and research and development of electronics and defence industry products. At Data Physics we can supply your company with high performance sound power measurement and analysis systems.

We offer our SignalCalc Dynamic Analyser for measuring sound pressure in diffuse or free sound fields, sound power in a reverberation chamber, or for direct measuring of sound intensity. Determining the correct method of sound power measurement will depend on the nature of the application being tested. All methods are tested according to ISO quality standards.

For more details of our products for Sound Power testing, please contact us.
  5. Sound Quality

    Sound Quality
Sound Quality measurements represent the objective qualification of sound quality when subjected to human hearing tests. The measurements form an important part of product quality verification where the sound quality emitted from the object is an integral part of its performance - so sound quality checks are vital for vehicles, phones, and audio equipment.

The sound testing will assess qualities such as loudness, sharpness, harshness, and fluctuation strength. At Data Physics we can provide companies in the electronics and automotive industries with our SignalCalc Dynamic Signal Analyser for the assessment of sound quality. The Signal Analyser will provide you with the quality data in graphic form ready for further analysis.

  6. Third Octave

    Third Octave
Third Octave filtering is a process of detailed analysis of sound waves in which the frequency of the sound waves is split to third octaves. Here at Data Physics we can supply companies with the measuring systems for third octave analysis during the testing of products. We have supplied our octave analysis systems to companies in the military and defence industries and to engineering research facilities.

Our SignalCalc Dynamic Signals Analysers provide octave measurements and are fully compliant with the necessary industry standards laid out by the International Electrotechnical Commission and the American National Standards Institute.

For more information relating to our Third Octave filtering, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
  7. Turbomachinery

    Turbomachinery
Turbomachinery includes engineering installations such as turbines and compressors that transfer energy from a rotor to a fluid. Here at Data Physics we provide power companies with the measuring tools and equipment to monitor vibration and noise in turbomachinery installations and reduce them if necessary to increase performance and efficiency levels.

We supply the SignalCalc Turbo specifically for the advanced analysis of vibration levels within turbomachinery - the Turbo system analyser can be operated in situ, will provide start-up analysis of newly installed machinery, and offers a full suite of options for the presentation of data once the testing period has elapsed.
